FAQ: How Can I Change the Sender/Reply Email Address in Smartwebs?

Details the process, cost, and timeline for updating the sender email address on all Smartwebs emails via Custom Domain Setup.

Purpose

To facilitate an update to the sender email address for all your communications out of Smartwebs, a Custom Domain Setup with our email service provider is required. Here is a summary and next steps. 

Cost

A one time fee of $250 is applied and the configuration is Global, meaning the update will apply to all HOAs within the Management Company.  You would be able to select any single email address from your domain to replace the current no-reply@email.smartwebs.com address on all email sent by Smartwebs.  

 

Timeline

Steps 1-4 in the Process below, take 1 business day from pricing approval. The AWS verification (step 8) takes 1-3 business days. As long as the Client action items (steps 5-6) are promptly completed (which may depend on your ISP host,) the full process can be completed within a week.

 

Process

✅1. Smartwebs: submit new domain identity request in AWS (Amazon Web Services)

⬆️2. AWS: process domain identity request

✅3. Smartwebs: once AWS processes, download CNAME records

4. Smartwebs: send the CNAME records to the Client

⭐5. Client: add CNAMEs to your DNS (Domain Name System) records, if applicable through your web hosting provider, to essentially confirm that you trust Smartwebs to send email on your behalf. *For more information please visit Verifying a Domain Identity

⭐6. Client: notify Smartwebs once CNAME records have been added to your DNS record

✅7. Smartwebs: requests domain verification at AWS

⬆️8. AWS: verifies the Domain

✅9. Smartwebs: receives notification of Domain verified

✅10. Smartwebs: update email address in Management Profile Settings in Smartwebs

✅11. Smartwebs: notify Client that email address at new domain is live
