Because ARC payments are initiated during project submission, residents must make their online payment while submitting the application through the Resident Portal.

When ARC Online Payments have been configured for both the Management Company and Association, and the project's application fee is set to Optional, residents are presented with two options when submitting an application:
- Continue – Requires all payment information to be completed before the application can be saved.
- Submit Without Payment – Allows the application to be submitted without paying the fee.
Require Payment During Submission
If Management users want to prevent residents from submitting an application without paying the fee, they can configure the application fee as Required at the Association level and include Project level exceptions.
When the fee is required, residents will no longer have the option to submit the application without payment.
To configure a required application fee:
Navigate to: ARC > More > Additional Settings > App Fee Required
You may also add exceptions if certain projects should have a different fee amount, or no required fee (enter $0).
Adding a Payment After Submission
If the application fee is not required and a resident submits an application without payment, the resident cannot return to the payment step after submission.
However, a Global Admin can manually collect payment by opening the application and selecting Pay, as demonstrated in the following recording:

Recommendation
To ensure application fees are collected during the submission process, Smartwebs recommends enabling App Fee Required in: ARC > More > Additional Settings
This setting prevents residents from submitting applications without paying the required fee.
