Smartwebs UI enables you to conveniently add multiple owners to a unit, including second and additional owners.
This update improves contact management by allowing associations to maintain more complete ownership information today while preparing Smartwebs UI for expanded contact management capabilities in future releases.
Where and how do I add additional owners?
Secondary and Other owners can be added from the Other Owners section within the Owner Unit Drawer.
Follow these steps:
- Open the Owner Unit Drawer.
- Select Other Owners.
- Click Add New.
- Enter the owner's name and address information.
- Select the appropriate Ownership Type.
- Click Save.
- Repeat these steps to add additional owners as needed.
Is there a limit to the number of owners I can add?
You can have one active Second Owner at a time, and as many Other Owners as applicable per unit.
If you attempt to add a Second Owner when one exists, the system prompt will ask the user to confirm if they would like to mark the existing Second Owner as a Past Owner.
What information is required when adding an owner?
You'll need to enter the owner's name, address information, and select the appropriate ownership type before saving.
Does this change affect existing owner records?
No. This enhancement simply supports adding multiple owners per unit efficiently. Existing owner records remain unchanged.
Why was this enhancement added?
This enhancement establishes the foundation for future Smartwebs UI updates that will support additional contact types, including enabling communication to:
- Multiple owners
- Multiple tenants
- Multiple agents or third-party contacts
- Other contact relationships
