FAQ - Can Multiple Users Work in the Offline App at the Same Site?
Learn how multiple users can work in the Offline App at the same HOA, including how uploads are handled, when conflicts may occur, and best practices to avoid overlapping changes.
Question:
Can more than one person at the same site use the Offline version of the app at the same location on the same day?
How does this impact downloading data, uploading changes, or potential overrides?
Answer:
Multiple users can use the Offline app at the same HOA at the same time without issue, as long as they are not working on the same unit and/or violation.
Each user's work is uploaded separately based on the changes they made while working offline. If users are working on different units, their uploads will not override each other's changes.
Example:
- ✅ User A works on Unit 101 violations and User B works on Unit 205 violations at the same HOA → No issue. Both users can upload their work successfully.
- ⚠️ User A and User B both edit the same unit, violation, activity, or item → A conflict will occur. The last upload processed may override the previous user's changes.
Additional Notes:
The Offline app uploads only the records that were changed on that device, rather than replacing all HOA data. This means users working on separate records will not impact each other's updates.
To avoid conflicts, users should coordinate when working offline and avoid editing the same records simultaneously.
Best Practice:
Multiple users can work offline at the same HOA, but users should not make changes to the same unit or violation until all offline work has been uploaded and synced.
